well what can I say, but wow...
This a most brilliant piece of photography.
It begins with the beautiful violet tone of the whole image, darker in the edges and getting lighter in the center, almost giving the feeling the cobweb isn't just illuminated, but also emitting the light.
The composition is just as perfect. I like the fact that the illuminated cobweb and the dark branch both go diagonally through the image.
And as a last point I really love the focus and dof, which match very well with the soft colour.

All in all, this is a stunning photo!

I like the light and the DOF. The angle is nice too. :)

This is me for forever, one of the lost ones.
The one without a name, without an honest heart as compass.

I think the original photo must be great, but your work in PS is what made the difference here, it really is special because of the vibrant violet color and vignetting that put even more accent on your focus.
I actually don't really like much editing, but this time you found just the right measure.
As for the stuff you didn't edit - I like the focus and depth, and how you set the angle just right to get good background light.

Thanks a lot for your thorough feedback, highly appreciated! And I'm glad you like it that much!
I agree with you on editing in general, but sometimes a good edit can really make the difference from an every-day life picture to a special one...

Wonderful, in many respects, and most of what I want to say has already been said below.

Focus, depth of field, angle, lighting all spot on

You can do what you like in PS to enhance an image, but you need a good base image to work on in the first place, and you certainly nailed this base image

I asked my watchers to suggest pieces they thought we're "eye catching" to be part of a feature I do at the end of all of my journals. =SnapperRod suggested this to me this morning and I agree with him. I'd like to know if you wouldn't mind me featuring this during the Nov. edition of my journal feature? If you want to see what it may look like before answering, just check out my latest journal entry and scroll to the bottom of the entry. I run the feature all month long, in my journal entries btw. Hope to hear from you soon :)

I'm right 97% of the time - who cares about the other 4%?

The only color authority I recognize is Crayola. Nothing like Razzmatazz or Screamin' Green to get my heart pumping :)
